Why We Previously Closed

We want to take a moment to share about why we temporarily closed our assisted living community.

The decision to close Langdon Place of Portsmouth, was not taken lightly. Our priority has always been and continues to be the safety, comfort, and dignity of the residents we serve.

Our community temporarily closed to complete significant building upgrades and enhancements that could not be safely or efficiently done while occupied. This dedicated time allowed us to thoughtfully improve both our physical environment and our operational systems — ensuring we return stronger, safer, and better equipped to serve.

Over time, it became clear that meaningful renovations were needed to ensure the building met the highest standards for senior living today. Rather than operate at anything less than the level our residents deserve, we chose to pause operations and make the necessary improvements.

This closure allowed us to:
• Upgrade infrastructure and safety systems
• Modernize resident spaces for greater comfort and accessibility
• Improve common areas to better support engagement and community
• Strengthen internal processes and operational systems
• Ensure full compliance with current health and safety expectations

Assisted living communities must continually evolve. Regulations change. Best practices advance. Families expect and deserve environments that feel secure, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for aging adults.

Closing temporarily was about doing things the right way, not the easy way.

We remain committed to serving seniors and families in transparency and integrity. Renovations are an investment in the future of our community and in the well-being of every resident who walks through our doors.

✨ Stay tuned — we’re excited to share what’s coming next.
